Dane Behrens is currently a Ph.D. student at UC Davis, with a focus in socioeconomics, morphology, and closure of estuaries. His master's research dealt with the closure and morphological characteristics of the Russian River in Northern California. His current work investigates the ties between land use changes and estuary closure in various countries throughout the Pacific Rim. Dane joined us in May 2008 to serve the water community by supervising the Fluid Mechanics category of WaterSISWEBS.

As an undergraduate, Dane was a member of the Men's Rowing team at UC Davis for four years, and continues to row at the recreational level.
